A Jazzy/Sketchy Weekend
I had a pretty good weekend this......weekend ....(huh?. w/a) Anywayz My little sister had her very first Recording session this weekend!!! *tear**boo hoo* (they grow up so fast), So we drop her off at a sketchy looking apartment in the King and Dufferin area of Downtown Toronto, and if you know Toronto at all, King and Dufferin izn't the nicest or safest place in the T.O. So I go into Tough Big Brother mode cuz she'z a little freaked out az I see some roughianz afoot. We go inside the building to her friendz appartment where she iz gonna be recording. Az we're walking down the piss/vomit smelling hallway after getting off the squeeky elevator that I am sure iz on it's last legz, I'm just getting ready to get shot or knifed down or something. The place looks like it waz gonna fall apart. We find the apartment and the guy openz the door, I give the usual stare down, (I'm a little over protective) my sencez tell me this chap iz alright, plus some of my sisterz friendz are there anywayz, so I leave her there and get out of that building az quick az I can only to be stopped by a crackhead in the hall asking me if I want a B.J.......I say no thanx..... and move on. (after living in Hamilton for 3 yrz it's not surprizing to me anymore). So I take the half broken elevator back down and my dad and I go checkout the Toronto Jazz Festival. It's so hard to find parking in downtown Toronto without paying, but after driving around for 20minz we find a spot under a tree. Me and my dad walk down to the festival, past some nice streets, ultra trendy streets, and streets where it seemz you can't park any car under $60,000 on their street.
The Jazzfest waz pretty sweet, we saw some heavy cats there man, I waz diggin em' and they were swingin', swingin' hard. We even went back the next day and went to a pub called "The Pilot" for some beerz and burgerz where we saw a pretty hip band play some tunez and some tippsy woman tried to hit on my dad, so he chatted her up a bit, just messin around it waz funny. (what a ladiez man, Go! Dad Go!)
After The Pilot we went to the main stage, and around downtown, listened to some more bandz, had some more Hotdogz, and my dad being himself quizzed me on the music being played and who played it, Just to see if I waz on my toez and knew my stuff. (he knowz so much, it's insane)
On the drive home, we had a nice chat, he gave me some important life advice, and I fell asleep. I love my dad, don't know what I'd do without him, I still have so much to learn from him.
Sunday after church in the morn' we went to pick up my sister at the "crackhead hotel", we listened to her demo, she still haz a few more tracks they want her to sing on, it actualy sounded awsome, I didn't think she could sound like that, me and my dad are really proud of her, especially me I think, She even wrote her own song.
So all in all a nice weekend with the Fam'. we may not have alot, but we have eachother and I guess that's enough.....I'm a lucky guy! (Sappy enough??) lol

Wow, I think that's the longest post you've ever written. Not two cups of coffee long, but maybe half a diet coke. Good job.
